About

Welcome to the FFCB, a modernized archive of our cardboard heroes!

They sat for years in boxes, binders, cupboards and drawers. Not fogotten, but not often seen or shared. Well now, after decades of technological advancement, we finally have a new home for our collections! Here you will be able to admire some of the greats, laugh at some of the not-so-greats, and get an up close look at our treasured baseball cards that call the FFCB home.

Meet our collectors below!

“I’ve never heard of half of these guys, and the ones I do know are way past their prime.” GM Charlie Donovan: “Most of these guys never had a prime.” —Charlie Donovan, Major League

Born Grant W L Giffin in Brockville, Ontario. Had a love of baseball from early age and started collecting cards in the late 1980’s. First real card packs and sets to collect were the 1987 Topps/OPCs. Then, really enjoyed the first few years of collecting UpperDeck sets-game changers. Collecting and hobby fizzled out into the mid 90’s as real life took over.  However, the hobby and collecting got a restart in summer of 2021 when Giffin sent a few old 1987 wax packs to Frost and another friend which has snowballed into us sharing our collecting experiences through the website. Now, some of my favourite sets are the early 80’s Topps, 1987 Topps and 1991 Upper Deck. Has shown a new interest in vintage singles. My favourite card is the 1987 Topps Bo Jackson. The holy grail of cards would be the ’52 Mantle. Grant goes by his MLB The Show Persona, ‘Flash Wilder’ here on the FFCB.

Born Kevin M J McKerracher in Brockville, Ontario. He first started to follow baseball in 1985, when the Toronto Blue Jays first went to the Post Season. He had everything from Jays pennants, t-shirts, pins and calendars. The baseball cards didn’t come until the summer of 1987 when on a trip to ‘The Store’ he picked up a pack of 1987 Topps. This started a span of years of collecting. In one instance he picked up a stack of 1980 O-Pee-Chee at a neighbours yard sale. Wrapped in elastic, the 20$ purchase contained a few gems you can see on this site today. On another occasion, some ’62 Topps ended up in his possession and are some of his favourite cards. In summer 2021, fellow collector Wilder sent out some ’87 wax packs to rip and it all got started from there. Kevin is the lead web developer of the FFCB. Kevin goes by his MLB The Show Persona, ‘Kevin Frost’ here on the FFCB.
